After playing for the Knicks in the NBA Summer League, Aamir Simms will be joining them for training camp. The team has signed the former Clemson star to an Exhibit 10 contract, a source confirmed.
An All-ACC second team selection, the 6-foot-8 Simms averaged a career-best 13.4 points on 40 percent shooting from 3-point range last year, along with 6.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 24 games. He played for the Knicks’ summer league team in Las Vegas, where he produced 3.8 points and 2.8 rebounds over 11.1 minutes across four games.

Also on Thursday, the Knicks announced the signing of veteran wing Dwayne Bacon. Last year with the Magic, the 6-foot-6 Bacon averaged 10.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and shot 40.2 percent from the field in 72 games, 50 of them being starts.
