Xavier McKinney may forgive, but he doesn’t forget.
Following the Giants’ nail-biting season finale Sunday — in which the rookie safety had a game-altering interception in New York’s 23-19 win over Dallas — McKinney revisited a past critical tweet from Cowboys fanatic and Fox Sports personality Skip Bayless.
“Glad the Giants took the Bama safety, Xavier McKinney, I did not want the Cowboys to take,” Bayless tweeted in April, to which McKinney responded Sunday: “Happy belated New Year’s Skip.”
The Giants selected Alabama product McKinney in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 36th overall pick. He fractured his foot in August during training camp and didn’t make his NFL debut until Week 12.
On Sunday, Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton desperately tossed a ball into the end zone on a third-and-long, which McKinney snagged with 1:15 left in the fourth quarter. The Giants sealed the game moments later after Wayne Gallman recovered his own fumble on a first-down run.

Despite the Giants knocking off one NFC East rival, the Philadelphia Eagles spoiled their playoff hopes Sunday night after losing to the Washington Football Team, 20-14.
Bayless has been celebrating Cowboys victories this season with bizarre dancing videos on Twitter.
Eagles head coach Doug Pederson has been lambasted on Twitter over his controversial call to pull rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts for backup Nate Sudfeld.
