A 90-year-old man was killed Thursday night when he was struck by a car driven by a 29-year-old in southeast Brooklyn, police said.
The victim was walking across Ralph Avenue, from west to east near Avenue L, when he was hit at 7:24 p.m. by the driver, in a Jaguar, headed south on Ralph, police said.
The elderly pedestrian was outside the crosswalk and the driver remained on the scene. Paramedics rushed the 90-year-old to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
“(The driver was) really shook up,” one police source said. “The poor old guy didn’t have a chance.”
After a lengthy interview and sobriety test, the driver was released and not arrested.
