‘Bad and Boujee’ is most streamed song of 2017 so far
Migos’ “Bad and Boujee” was the most-streamed song in the first half of the year, according to BuzzAngle, a music measurement firm.
Rapper Migos’ hit tallied 711.3 million streams in the first half, though Drake was the most popular artist with 3.7 billion streams of various releases from his album, “More Life.”
Consumers are listening to more music than ever — via streaming. Digital album sales continue to crater, falling 24.3 percent in the half from last year, to 34.5 million units.
Overall music consumption rose 9.9 percent, to 293 billion units, while total on- demand streams broke the 10 billion mark for the first time, clocking in at 10.8 billion per week on average, year to date.
Subscription streamers are serving up more music than ever — growing 69.3 percent for the period.
Vinyl album sales rose 20.4 percent.
